Paper Plate Animals- Fun Crafts
Paper Plate Animals are a delightful and simple craft project for kids.
Materials Needed:
- Paper plates
- Construction paper (various colors)
- Markers or crayons
- Glue
- Scissors
- Optional: googly eyes, feathers, buttons, pom-poms
Instructions:
Choose Your Animal: Decide which animal you want to create. Some popular choices include lions, frogs, owls, or bunnies.
Prepare the Plate: Use a paper plate as the base of your animal. You can cut or fold the plate if needed, depending on the animal you’re making.
Create the Animal’s Features:
- For a Lion: Cut strips of yellow or orange construction paper and glue them around the edge of the plate to make the lion’s mane. Add a face using markers, and glue on googly eyes and a nose made from colored paper or a pom-pom.
- For a Frog: Cut out two circles from green construction paper for the frog’s eyes and glue them to the top of the plate. Draw a mouth and nose with a marker, and use additional green paper to create the frog’s legs.
- For an Owl: Cut out feathers from different colors of construction paper and glue them in overlapping rows around the plate. Add two large circles for eyes and a small triangle for the beak.
- For a Bunny: Cut out large ears from white or pink construction paper and glue them to the top of the plate. Draw or glue on a face with whiskers and a nose.
Add Details: Use markers, crayons, or additional paper pieces to add details to your animal. You can include patterns, textures, or other decorative elements to make the craft more unique.
Let It Dry: If you’ve used glue, let the craft dry completely before handling it.
Display Your Creation: Once dry, your paper plate animals are ready to be displayed. You can hang them on the wall, use them as masks, or simply enjoy them as a fun decoration.
This craft is not only easy but also allows for a lot of creativity and customization. Enjoy crafting your paper plate animals!
